Kitchen and bathroom floors take water, spills, rolling carts, dropped pots and Florida humidity — and they're the one surface you touch every single day. We install flooring in both rooms with the subfloor prepared properly, because a floor is only as good as what's under it.
Waterproof LVP or porcelain tile
Luxury vinyl plank is today's default for good reason: fully waterproof, warm underfoot, quiet, and convincingly wood-look. Quality tiers matter — thicker wear layers and rigid cores (SPC) survive real life; bargain LVP doesn't. In bathrooms, continuous LVP without seams at the shower or tub is both the cleanest look and the best water defense.
Porcelain tile remains the premium bathroom floor: cool underfoot in our climate, essentially permanent, and available in sizes from mosaic to 24-inch slabs. Large-format tile looks spectacular and demands a very flat subfloor — we check and flatten first, because telegraphing through big tiles is a mistake you see every day.
Subfloor, transitions and details
The prep is the project: moisture testing on slabs, leveling compounds where floors dip, secure fastening on wood subfloors, and underlayments matched to the product. Skipping this stage is why some floors click, hollow, or gap within a year of installation.
Transitions get designed, not improvised — where tile meets LVP, where the bathroom floor meets the hall, where the kitchen opens to the living room. Height differences, expansion gaps and thresholds are resolved during planning so the finished floor reads as one deliberate surface.

Is luxury vinyl plank really waterproof?
The plank is; the installation has to be too. Seams at doorways, around toilets and at tub edges, and the quality of the underlayment decide whether water stays on top where you can wipe it up. We detail those areas specifically.
Tile feels cold — is that bad in Florida?
In South Florida it's usually a feature: cool floors in a warm climate. If you want warmth underfoot in a bathroom, there are electric in-floor heating mats that install under tile — worth considering in a primary bath you'll use every morning.
Can you match new flooring to the rest of the house?
Often — matching discontinued LVP exactly is the hard part. We'll bring options: true matches when they exist, or a planned transition (a threshold, a room break) that makes a different floor look intentional rather than patched.
How long does flooring installation take?
A typical kitchen or bathroom floor is a few days of work including prep and cure time for leveling compounds. Whole-floor projects across open living areas run longer, mostly in moving furniture and sequenced room-by-room work.
